SEO: Get a better ranking for your website for free!

For those of you who don't know, SEO stands for "Seach Engine Optimization". SEO allows you to rank a website, blog, etc., higher in a seach engine. I have done a bit of research on this topic and found a few helpful tips. There are things that you can to best improve your ranking. Backlinks, backlinks, backlinks. A "backlink" is a link on another website that leads to yours. Seach engines take into consideration the number of backlinks: the more you have, the better you are ranked. Obviously you already know of at least one way to get backlinks because you are on this site. However, there are many, MANY more ways that you can get backlinks if you but in a little effort. Free Ads This is something I never heard of before. There are a lot of sites that allow you to post ads for a limited period of time (usually a month) for free. You can use the same ad for each of the sites and simply renew the article. Comment on Blogs If you comment on blogs and forums that are about your topic, you can put you website in your signature. This creates backlinks as well as drives traffic that is interested in your website/blog. That is really all I have to say about SEO for now. I hope this has helped you in some way.
